This is a page with several random tricks and tips about playing the collector class.

Picky Eater

Picky Eater is rather frequently labeled as "useless" in public chats, but I disagree with that completely. Picky Eater allows to reject selected resources from the drop tables in quests. In other words: you could reject silver ore and that means you'll not get any silver ore in quests anymore. But it is not that simple. The resources are not only rejected, the loot slot of the resource in the quest is eventually rerolled. This means: normally you'd get 10 silver ore in a quest. This is rejected now. For e.g. 3 of the 10 theoretically dropping silver ores, a reroll happens. The loot slot is randomly filled with other items that can possibly drop at this quest time and location. Rejecting the very common silver ore means in fact: for some of the rejected slots, you have a tiny chance to get a recipe or part. Or even more common: you can get more rubies or magic stones. Skilling Picky Eater higher allows to reject more different types of resources, but it also increases the chance for a reroll.

Level Number of rejectable resources Player level unlock
1 2 50
2 2 55
3 3 60
4 3 65
5 4 70
6 4 75

In summary: skilling Picky Eater not only removes a lot of trash resources from your inventory, it also increases the amount of "better loot" (valuable resources or even parts and recipes). My experience with it is, that you get significantly more valuable resources, which you can easily sell to buy back tiny amounts of the suddenly missing rejected resources. But it was always profitable to reject first and then buy back very cheap if needed. The output of Picky Eater quests is worth it!
