Game mechanics of PE skill
This skill is loved by Collectors to reduce the flood of incoming trash resources in all quests. But let me explain what exactly happens:
/usc_pe r 10
Would be the command to reject all silver ore in quests. This means you'll not get any silver ore anymore, no matter which quest type or time of the day. Every single loot drop that would be silver ore normally, is directly rejected.
But the skill has a second integrated functionality: the rerolling tool. And this is the thing many players don't really understand, even though it's rather simple in the end:
Check out this real quest result of myself, without PE active:
Strolling through the mountains you encountered an evil undead wizard hitting himself against a cold wall. He must be completely out of his mind. You decided not to bother him and simply collected all the gold around him. You received: 635 exp and 5 gold Earned: Silver ore (7) Earned: Thread (4) Earned: Coal (3) Earned: Bone (3) Earned: Bauxite (2) Earned: Metal plate (2) Earned: Magic stone (1) Earned: Bone powder (1)
Total amount of loot slots: 23 (7 of these are Silver Ore)
Now what happens with such a quest result, when PE is active? There are 7 loot slots in the quest result which are 1 Silver Ore each. But with PE active, all Silver Ore drops will be rejected. in reality this means: "Ok this loot slot is Silver Ore. Reject! it!. And now let RNG decide what happens with the loot slots: drop and ignore or reroll to find potential other loot instead. (Fantasy number used here to show the principle - the real numbers are not known): With 50% probability, this first Silver Ore drop will get rerolled. Suddenly, there is another chance to get e.g.more Magic Stones or more Rubies from the extra loot slots -- or Parts and Recipes can be the result of a reroll. The other 50% probability results in "nothing". The Silver Ore is rejected and there is no random replacement in exchange for it. This means that in total you'll see less resources or items as quest reward than without active PE skill.
Example what could happen with PE actively rejecting Silver Ore:
Strolling through the mountains you encountered an evil undead wizard hitting himself against a cold wall. He must be completely out of his mind. You decided not to bother him and simply collected all the gold around him. You received: 635 exp and 5 gold Earned: Thread (5) Earned: Coal (4) Earned: Bone (3) Earned: Magic stone (3) Earned: Bauxite (2) Earned: Metal plate (2) Earned: Bone powder (1)
Total amount of loot slots: 20 (-7 Silver Ore, BUT: +1 Thread, +1 Coal, +2 Magic Stones)
Optimizing the resource rejection
If you want to optimize your quest loot, you should skill PE to higher levels. Higher PE levels mean higher chance for a loot slot reroll. And higher PE also allows to reject more different resources. Rejecting more => Every rejected item can give more valuable items (Magic Stones, Parts, Recipes) through the increased amount of rerolls. Conclusion: invest skill points in PE!
| PE-Level | PE-Skill Unlock Levee | Number of rejected resources |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 50 | 2 |
| 2 | 55 | 2 |
| 3 | 60 | 3 |
| 4 | 65 | 3 |
| 5 | 70 | 4 |
| 6 | 75 | 4 |
Note: Current research from players who reached L80 shows, that L80 does not unlock new skill levels at the moment. The table only includes all relevant level steps before.
Next thing: I often hear about a problems from users who try not to reject resources that the guild needs at the moment. The users change their rejection lists often, making sure they don't deny what their guild needs right now. In other words: the player suddenly rejects another resource which is not as common as e.g. Silver Ore (e.g. "my guild needs Silver Ore at the moment - I won't reject Silver Ore at the moment"). But if you suddenly allow to drop again a resource that drops in gigantic amounts normally and you reject a more rare resource in exchange. The loot will be much less valuable on average.
The basic principle is to reject the most common resources, because that gives most reroll chances.
Personal suggestion which resources to reject
This list assumes that the player does not want to change this list constantly and instead wants a rejection list that works for Forest, Valley and Swamp. My personal suggestion is therefore:
- Silver Ore (drops in incredible amounts in Valley.)
- Stick (drops in incredible amounts in Forest)
- Powder (drops in all quest types in very high amounts)
- Bone (drops in high amounts in Swamp and Valley)
- Coal (drops at different times in all quest types, but often stacks up a lot)
FAQ
Sometimes I encounter the argument that "at the moment resource X can be sold easily". This is the reason behind suddenly allowing the most common resources again and stopping the rejects.ou can sell your Silver Ore for 1💰 at the moment. But trust me, the loot options are not worth it it. You lost like 10 chances for valuable rerolls.
TL;DR: don't reject resources which are not very common. Reject the most common ones and just buy the resources you might need for other things, too. Your profit from rejecting the trash is much higher than the costs to fill up a few basic resources.
